I have loved every other paint I’ve gotten from Gapka and the quality of this one is no different but this hue of burnt umber is way different from what I’m used too. It has purple undertones that render it cooler rather than the warmer red undertone umber I am used too. Tried to use in my current painting but couldn’t it threw my whole palette off.

Tones for Burnt Umber can vary across paint brands depending on the pigment used and the source; ours does lean a little more purple in the undertones. We try to photograph our paints to showcase the undertones as best we can, but photography and computer screens aren't the best for maintaining color accuracy. I really love the vibrant color of these oils. I am painting some very brilliant flowers and these colors allow me to capture the true colors of nature. Love them!

Great color! Works well for hints of foliage on dark backgrounds. It does dry really quickly though so don’t squeeze out much at a time. Pretty special.

I initially purchased this color in a sample pack. I had to buy it in a tube because it quickly became one of my favorite colors to use
The Gapka Neon range is truly unmatched for both pigment and consistency. I use it for glazing, under paintings, and pretty much everything in between. The glow under a black light is incredible, but the color is vibrant and stands out on it's own as well. Even paintings several years old have not lost their potency or yellowed, this paint is a staple on my palette!

I like how these subtle translucent pigments behave/perform as well as the opaques but don't drowned out or smother the light within.

While I'm usually intimidated by the flashy shimmer of pearlescent oils this formula blends without overtones and can stand alone on clean accents like china and glass.
Love the champagne finish.
