The Company:

Gapka was founded in 2005 by Pablo Gisholt, with the help of his brother Alfredo (a painter) and his Uncle (a pigment chemist). Together they worked to develop a line of handcrafted oil paints that reflected a dedication to the highest quality standards. 

For almost 10 years Gapka manufactured oil paints for artists from all over the world, developing and producing over 70 beautiful colors.

In 2016 Pablo met his partner, Rita and we decided that it was time to bring Gapka back. In March 2020 we started small by launching our fluorescent neon line. We are slowly starting to offer all our beloved colors and hopefully a few new ones too. We recently launched our own line of watercolors as well. Made in the same spirit of respecting the pigment, we add only a traditional vehicle made with natural honey before milling and hand-filling each pan. 

While our watercolors are made in Allentown, we still make each batch of our oil paints by hand in our small factory in Mexico. We hope you love using our paints as much as we love making them.
