Our neon paints are fluorescent and will glow when exposed to a UV-Blacklight. These same pigments make the colors bright neon under normal lighting conditions.

Like all our oil paints our neon colors are made using only the finest pigments and without adding any fillers to maintain the pigments' natural qualities and ensure the highest possible pigment loads. 

Our neon paints are made with unique fluorescent pigments that behave a little differently from traditional colors and that’s part of what makes them special. They’re beautifully transparent with a soft, luminous quality, and their naturally fine texture gives them a distinct feel under the brush. These paints will separate slightly in the tube and tend to dry more slowly, especially in thicker applications.

Fluorescent colors are not colorfast by their nature. Humidity, temperature, and light exposure will affect the duration of the fluorescent properties and brightness of the paint in daylight. Read more about their lightfastness here.

They took a while to arrive

They took a while to arrive, but they look like they are well worth the wait! Packaged well, no leaks. I had a sneak peak at the colours in the tubes when they got here and I can't wait to use them!!

Love the paint but pretty runny

Love the neons but they were not as smooth or homogenous as I expected, very runny. Some colors in this set were perfect while other pigments felt like the paint material was not completely integrated and needed a lot of mixing and checking for pilly-debris material straight from the tube. Also the tubes were really wet with leaked oil from the shipped package.

The product seems old

Hi Anna,

We assure you that the tubes you received were not old. We are a small manufacturer and keep limited quantities in stock. We do hand-roll some of our tubes, which will give some a less "manufactured" look, but this does not effect the quality of the paint in the tubes. We did get your email with concern regarding some oil leakage, which is normal for paints that do not include any fillers (like natural peanut butter separation) and we have sent you a return label and offered you a full refund of your purchase price.

We are a small business and know that our success depends on providing a quality product to our customers. We are sorry that you were unhappy with the packaging.

I purchased the set and from the moment of unpacking, I had my skepticism. The packaging was slick with oil. When I opened the paint came in varying textures. The blue was more oil than paint, and the rest of the tubes were gritty. Pigment-wise, blick oil paints feel like old holland paints compared to these. I reached out to them with my concerns and that went unanswered. 10/10 would never recommend.

Hi Jen! We are sorry to hear about your experience with our paints. We recently changed our tube supplier and have found them to leak a little more, we are working on fixing that issue. While the leakage is minimal, we understand that it is not the best experience. As for the texture and quality, the neon pigments are different than traditional colors and we try to let people know that on our website. All our paints will have varying textures as we don’t add any fillers so the to alter the natural qualities of the pigments. We don’t see any emails or calls from you, but we would be happy to refund your purchase if you are not satisfied. I’ve used the fluorescent Gapka colors for a while and they give a lift when a painting needs it. I am very happy with them, high recommendation.

Intriguing

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this paint. The neon shows well in a multitude of colors. I do recommend they work on the green however, it is a little inconsistent and needs more fine tuning.

I have used a lot of fluorescent paints in the past but nothing compares to these. The paint still performs and behaves like oil paint. It is great to add to non fluorescent colours too - it really heightens and intensifies existing colours.

LOVE THESE PAINTS!

I have yet to paint something with these but i did tests last night on blank canvases and they are incredible under blacklight! I cannot wait to use them to make more vibrant paintings!

Terrible.

The colors are not neon. They don’t look anything like the swatch on the front of the tube. They’re also a terrible consistency and separate from paint and oil and have a terrible flow like old separated unmixed PNUT butter or oatmeal.

Fabulous! I was I was painting a large canvas. The subject was a local carnival at that magical hour when the sky is the same intensity as the electric lights on all the carousels and Ferris wheels. I couldn’t get the electric lights to match the intensity of of the sky. I bought the neon collection and everything popped. Thank you.

These are AWESOME

I’m pretty surprised at the results with these. The neon effect works even when blended with other colors. I’ve even used them to bump up the vibrancy of other colors - added the neon yellow to a bright green. I only wish the neon blue was a lighter brighter color - it’s more of a dark blue.

Incredible Consistency and Quality!

Amazing pigment quality

My wife and I are professional artists, we've been painting professionally for years and have always used gamblin, m. Graham, and mostly Williamsburg paints. We have loved Williamsburg the most, but I think GAPKA might be our new go-to. They have better prices, richer pigments and their neon range is incredible. Can't wait to get the huge tubes of all the basic colors and more neons! This paint is very pigmented, so a little goes a long way!

So glad someone is finally making fluorescence oils with the same thought and care put into mainstream hues. The acknowledgement and research done for lightfastness was the cherry on top and what sold me. From the bottom of my heart - thank you!

So far, I’m loving theses colors! I’ve mainly been using them for pops in still life paintings where things are literally fluorescent! Price stickers, neon toys, arcade buttons. These paints are a millennial artist’s dreams come true :)
