Our neon paints are fluorescent and will glow when exposed to a UV-Blacklight. These same pigments make the colors bright neon under normal lighting conditions.
Like all our oil paints our neon colors are made using only the finest pigments and without adding any fillers to maintain the pigments' natural qualities and ensure the highest possible pigment loads.
The pigments used in making fluorescent paints have their own unique qualities. All neon colors are beautifully transparent. The paints will have a fine grainy texture and have a tendency to separate from the oil. Applying the paint in a thick layer may result in a powdery texture that will take a long time to dry and may crack if touched.

Fluorescent colors are not colorfast by their nature. Humidity, temperature, and light exposure will affect the duration of the fluorescent properties and brightness of the paint in daylight. Read more about their lightfastness here.
Love the neons but they were not as smooth or homogenous as I expected, very runny. Some colors in this set were perfect while other pigments felt like the paint material was not completely integrated and needed a lot of mixing and checking for pilly-debris material straight from the tube. Also the tubes were really wet with leaked oil from the shipped package.

The product seems old

We assure you that the tubes you received were not old. We are a small manufacturer and keep limited quantities in stock. We do hand-roll some of our tubes, which will give some a less "manufactured" look, but this does not effect the quality of the paint in the tubes. We did get your email with concern regarding some oil leakage, which is normal for paints that do not include any fillers (like natural peanut butter separation) and we have sent you a return label and offered you a full refund of your purchase price.
We are a small business and know that our success depends on providing a quality product to our customers. We are sorry that you were unhappy with the packaging.

I purchased the set and from the moment of unpacking, I had my skepticism. The packaging was slick with oil. When I opened the paint came in varying textures. The blue was more oil than paint, and the rest of the tubes were gritty. Pigment-wise, blick oil paints feel like old holland paints compared to these. I reached out to them with my concerns and that went unanswered. 10/10 would never recommend.
Hi Jen! We are sorry to hear about your experience with our paints. We recently changed our tube supplier and have found them to leak a little more, we are working on fixing that issue. While the leakage is minimal, we understand that it is not the best experience. As for the texture and quality, the neon pigments are different than traditional colors and we try to let people know that on our website. All our paints will have varying textures as we don’t add any fillers so the to alter the natural qualities of the pigments. I’ve used the fluorescent Gapka colors for a while and they give a lift when a painting needs it. I am very happy with them, high recommendation.
