Excellent color and viscosity . It works well for me using either a brush or knife .
I like the product fine. The pigment is right on. So far Ive used it only once but texture is good and overall a good replacement of Grumbacher green gold which they seemingly no longer produce.. I’ll buy more color here eventually.
I love these this transparent green, it's perfect for glazing or toning down a red undercoat.
I highly recommend!
Great addition to my landscape palette.
These Gapka oils are a dream. When used straight out of the tube, they are a thick viscosity - more like ghee than butter- and when combined with mediums ( stand oil or linseed), they spread evenly and smoothly with the consistency of olive oil-- but the hue remains strong ! The oils can be thinned with mineral spirits to create a wash, and again- the color is retained.
Obviously these oils blend well with other oils from Gapka, but they also elevate mass- produced oil paints.
Gapka oils are a bit more expensive than the mass-produced, large "house" brands, but I love supporting a small business and the quality makes any tiny cost increase well worth it. AND- Gapka sent me three really good sized sample oil paint pots ( of three different colors from what I ordered) with my order. That is such a personal touch!
I've found my new brand!
